Hypothesis tests assume the population parameter value and derive values, probabilities, for observed estimates under the assumption of that hypothesis. Confidence interval gives those values such that, assuming the center of the confidence interval as null hypothesis, estimates falling within the interval would be assigned values too large to reject.
